A propos de cet article

1st edition. 1st printing. Original printed wrappers. A fine copy. Inscribed by Ding Ling on the front blank: "To Mr. Huang Keyi, Ding Ling, December 1981, San Francisco." A desirable association copy inscribed during Ding Ling's visit to the United States in December 1981. By this period, following years of political persecution, Ding had resumed an active role in Chinese literary life and was once again engaging with readers and academic audiences abroad. One of the most influential Chinese writers of the twentieth century, Ding Ling is known for works including Miss Sophia's Diary and The Sun Shines Over the Sanggan River. Signed and inscribed copies from this later stage of her career are encountered infrequently in the market.
