A poetic story of young John, oldest of the children at play, to whom the everygreen pine of childhood will rise in visual splendor as his long and good life draws to an end. In the Preface, the author writes: "Happy are we if we remain faithful [to childhood visions and dreams], and when old age comes on, we still dream dreams." A philosophic and spiritual tale by Thomas Chandler (1858-1945), also known as Thomas C. Thacher, of Yarmouth, Barnstable County, Mass. This volume is printed by The Register Press, publisher of the printing of Trave Letters (1943).
