Presentation copy of the notable Jamaican writer's penultimate novel, an account of Juan de Bolas and the Jamaican Maroons. This copy, with a card from Reid stapled to the front wrap with "Compliments" penned to it, is further inscribed to half-title for his daughter Sonia (from his 1935 marriage to Victoria Monica Jacobs): for my daughter / Sonia / from Daddy / Victor Reid / Nov. '76" Slight edge wear, rust offsetting from stapled card to front, card itself is foxed. Otherwise clean and sound; Very Good (+). Perfect-bound octavo in illustrated wrappers. 266pp.
