Signed and inscribed by the author on the half-title in black pen: "For Bayer[?]--Who gives so much to poetry--in affectionate friendship and admiration. Katherine Garrison Chapin, Washington 1960." 5 3/4 x 8 3/4." Ninety-eight pages, complete. Dust wrapper and pages and covers of the book are very clean and intact. Binding is tight. Dust wrapper has a few spots from foxing on the back flap and a few marks on the front and back panels. Dust wrapper is not price-clipped. No remainder marks. A Fine book in a Fine dust wrapper. Katherine Garrison Chapin (1890-1977) was an American author, poet, essayist, and civil rights advocate. She was a prolific writer and her work appeared in many publications including The American Scholar, Contemporary Poetry, Poetry Magazine, the Saturday Review of Literature, and Harper's Magazine. This book contains fifty-six poems.
