Moderate rubbing to cloth margins, textblock a bit toned, else Very Good and sound. Issued as Volume 1 of the series Foundation Studies in Culture. Warmly inscribed and signed on front free endpaper, "To Burleigh Cupp [Capp?] With the appreciation and affectionate esteem of Huntley Dupre." The inscription is followed by three more in three different hands, signed Vladimir Dupre, John Dupre, and Virginia Dupre. A later manuscript notes that John Dupre was killed during World War II.
