A classic work on software and project engineering, penned in the wake of the author's struggle with the development of the operating system OS/360 (a precursor to Microsoft's Windows, Apple's iOS, and Google's Android) at IBM. The work's tone is humorous and at times self-deprecating with quotes from Shakespeare and titles like "Hatching a Catastrophe." The book explains Brooks's Law, the idea that "adding manpower to a late software project makes it later." Scarce signed.
