Three volumes, small folio. Volume one i-xxvii, 356 pp, Volume two, i-xii, 360 pp, Volume 3, i-xxxiii, 268 pp. Extensively illustrated throughout with drawings, photographs, facsimiles of Medieval Psalters and other documents, detailed plans etc. One of 150 sets specially bound in quarter pigskin and signed by both the authors, this set being number 49. Loosely inserted is a facsimile reproduction of the Plan of St Gall printed in eight colour lithography. Ex -library of the Royal College of Arts with their book plate on each front pastedown and stamp on each title page. The spines have a "For Reference Only" sticker at the base and the spine of the first volume has a small split but generally this is a very good clean copy contained in the original slip case. Bound in quarter pig skin with cloth sides and all edges gilt this is a superb production. An exceptionally heavy item for which extra charges will be required to send an overseas order.
