Salamanca, J. R. : A Sea Change. New York : Alfred A. Knopf, 1969. First edition/First impression. Inscribed by author to former owner. Size is octavo (8vo), 8.625"/22cm h. Bound in publisher's black cloth, bright metallic light blue lettering/ornamentation to spine and both boards. Glossy color pictorial dj. Light blue topstain; deckle fore-edge. Plain white endpapers. [X] pp prelim material, 501 numbered pp, [502] colophon. Condition notes: warmly inscribed by Salamanca to former owner on ffep; same owner's (peace sign!) bookplate to front pastedown. The book is sound but has been roughly stored: spine heavily cocked, corners bumped, spine ends rolled; several creases show to cloth of front board from rough handling. DJ unclipped in mylar, several small tears and chips, general rubbing. Interior tanned but unmarked. Salamanca grew up in Virginia and Florida, but spent much of his adult life in Maryland.
