Peterson A15. Octavo. Original red cloth, printed paper label to spine. With dust jacket. Spine cocked, ends and corners bumped; jacket worn with chips to edges and loss to one third of rear panel at head, couple of marks, unclipped: a very good in poor jacket. Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. Etat de la jaquette : Very Good. 1st Edition. First Edition (first printing). This copy inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper to writer and broadcaster Arthur Marshall, Betjeman's regular panel show partner. Slim 8vo. 127pp. Red cloth with a printed paper spine label. A very good copy in later fifth impression dust wrapper, which is non-price-clipped but lightly toned and dust soiled and with little internal reinforcement. Thirty-six poems. The inscription itself is a prime example of Betjeman wit: "To Arthur Marshall B.S.C., from his colleague on the engineering side. John Betjeman". It is difficult to imagine a less 'engineering' couple than this giggling two-some. Inscribed by Author(s). N° de réf. du vendeur GAM168

First edition, first impression, inscribed by the author; 8vo; publisher's red cloth, white paper title label to spine printed in black, browning to the half-title leaf from loose inserts, spine faded, otherwise very good. A major publication at the time which was included by Cyril Connolly as one of the Key 100 books of the modern movement. A slightly surprising literary association copy with the author's signed presentation inscription to the front free endpaper, 'Inscribed fro Brian Aldiss the brilliant fellow J Betjeman V.X.MCMXLVIII'. The recipient would later become one of Britain's most celebrated writers of Science Fiction. At the time of the inscription, he was working in an Oxford bookshop that Betjeman patronised. Literary associations of Betjeman's major collections are rare. N° de réf. du vendeur 110956
