The scarce Roberts Brothers variant binding, from the U.S. first. Blue cloth with forest-green titles and decoration at front and rear panels, gilt titling at spine. Cloth good, age-soiled, lightly edgeworn, and tanned along edges and to spine. Front inner hinge just slightly cracked between title page and contents; binding else intact, and is sound through text. Prior owner's name inked to FFEP; early Brentano's sticker adhered to bottom margin of rear paste down. Very lightly foxed to title page and its protective tissue guard.
