Ballantyne from her affect. brother the author, Harrow 1884''. The recipient is the author's sister-in-law Christina Alice. After the word ''sister'' in the inscription a different hand has added the words ''-in-law''.Inner hinges cracked. Some damage, repaired, to bottom part of front free endpaper.
