First edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Original blue cloth with yellow titles to the spine and a yellow stamped motif to the upper board, in the pictorial dustwrapper. Generously illustrated throughout in colour. An excellent fine copy, the binding square and tight, the cloth clean and fresh. Complete with the near fine, lightly rubbed dustwrapper that is a little scuffed to the rear panel. Not price-clipped ($35 on the upper front flap). Signed by David Hockney on the title page. A large, varied collection of images of Hockney's work from throughout his career and across many disciplines, including painting, photography, stage design and digital printing. Most of the images are reproduced here for the first time. Accompanied by an insightful and detailed commentary based on a series of extended conversations between Hockney and Nikos Stagnos over a period of five years, built around the idea of artistic practice as an exploration of different and new ways of perceiving the world. A fascinating look at the evolution of Hockney's practical and philosophical approach to art. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request. Lucius Books welcomes direct contact with our customers. N° de réf. du vendeur 29937
