A propos de cet article
------------( 1st printing of the First French Edition ) PLEASE NOTE: ALL TEXT is in FRENCH: softcover, a solid Good example, some loss on three corners of the covers, spine chips, some creases and short tears, sounds worse than it really is, presents quite well overall especially for a softcover cookbook that is over 100 years old, all coupons are attached, ---this is the FRENCH language version of the FIVE ROSES COOKBOOK (also issued in 1915 ), small hole punched in upper corner near spine as this was meant to hang near the stove or cooking area (as issued ), nice art nouveau cover art of a stylish housewife referencing this cookbook ( mixing bowl and flour sifter on the table in front of her), ---according to CULINARY LANDMARKS: A Bibliography of Canadian Cookbooks there are two versions of this 1915 edition [see Q79.4 ], one has no colour photos within the text, the other was issued with colour photos, this copy has the colour photos throughout the text (as did the ENGLISH language version), as well this FRENCH edition is not a mere French translation of the English version, this FRENCH edition has some different contents, different recipes and different layout of recipes as compared to the English version, ---this is the only copy of this that I have seen/handled in almost 30 years of bookselling, really quite scarce as the FRENCH production numbers would have been much lower than the English print run, cover art shows the artist's signature which is either M C Perley (as per Driver ) of McPerley (as per my visual looksee ), I was unable to find any other reference to M C Perley or McPerley as an artist or cover artist, any image directly beside this listing is the actual book and not a generic photo ///NOT SIGNED ---GUARANTEED to be AVAILABLE/// ---sizes are approximate (generally within 1/8 inch)--- Size: 7w x 9.5h Inches.
