When this book was recovered it was stamped on two pages with the Daimler-Benz AG insignia from their primary plant and global headquarters at Mercedesstraße 136, Stuttgart-Untertürkheim. Post WWII because of its role in consolidating Hitler's power, the Allied forces specifically ordered this book to be destroyed. The book was a collaborative propaganda effort with the Wehrmacht, published and distributed by the Cigaretten-Bilderdienst (Cigarette Image Service) in 1936. The project featured contributions from several high-ranking Nazi officials and photographers: Photographs: The 203 images primarily taken by Heinrich Hoffmann, Hitler's official photographer. Foreword: Written by Joseph Goebbels, Reich Minister of Propaganda. Dedication/Introduction: By Hermann Göring.
