Presumed first edition (no direct edition/printing statement but with matching dates upon title and copyright pages). 147 pages. Hardcover: H 17.75cm x L 12.25cm. No dust jacket (i.e. lacking). Aquamarine cloth lightly rubbed with slight soiling; spine slightly cocked; bumping/scuffing at spine ends and board corners; gilt stamping to spine and front board remains fairly bright; spine heel with gilt-lettered "Neale's" imprint, a possessive form of the publisher's surname which was only seen on early Neale books. Toning with some soiling and stains to text block edges. Some stains to fore-edge margins of front endpapers and rear free endpaper verso; a few minor spots of soiling to interior leaves which, overall, remain clean. Binding is firm. An uncommon Neale fiction title and presumably a product of Walter Neale's vanity press salesmanship. OCLC only locates physical copies at five member institutions. Bibliographical reference: Robert Krick NEALE BOOKS; AN ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY #511. N° de réf. du vendeur CVA-01725
