An Abridgement, or Summarie of the Scots Chronicles; with a Briefe Description of Scotland, by John Monipennie. To which is added, the Description of the Western Isles of Scotland, &c. Printed for David Webster, Edinburgh and John Wyllie, Glasgow. 1818. 1st edition thus, following the edition of 1612, and compared and collated with that of John Wreittoun, Edinburgh, 1633. Includes a facsimile title page from 1612. This is a fine copy of this scarce 1818 edition in a beautiful modern binding consisting of marbled paper and blue cloth hardback with decorated, labelled spine. Gilt edges to all 3 text sides. The original text is in beautiful fine condition and it is unlikely that there would be a better copy to be found. 207pp. Dimensions: 198mm high x 121mm wide x 14mm deep.
