A propos de cet article

A bound, ex-library copy the January - June 1932 issues of The American Magazine, volume 113. It includes a title and author index bound in the front. Contents include stories and Depression Era articles by Archibald Rutledge (What Do People Expect of You - January, Square Fighters - May), Octavus Roy Cohen (A Diamond Setting - January, Cold Cash - March, Double Sixes - April), Faith Baldwin (Rich Man's Town, parts 3 - 5 of 5, January - March) , Zane Gray (West of the Pecos, parts 6 & 7 of 7, January & February), Calvin Coolidge (In Times Like These - February), Ida M Tarbell (What Big Business Expects of Young Men - February), P G Wodehouse (Three Mr Mulliner stories - The Bishop's Cat (The Story of Webster) - February, The Bishop's Folly (Cats will be Cats) - March, & Open House - April), Clarence Budington Kelland (Scattergood Takes to His Bed - February, Speaking of Taxes - March, Ex-Banker - April, Paper Flowers - May), Stephen Vincent Benet (The Delphinium Blues - March), Franklin D Roosevelt (Why We Need Politicians - April), Booth Tarkington (Out of the Dark - April), General John J Pershing (We Are at War - June), and others. Light rubbing to the spine. The front covers are present but the back covers have been removed, The top margin has been trimmed slightly, at times affecting the text at the top of the front cover. The library markings are fairly unobtrusive. They include "Mercer University Library - Macon, GA" stamps on the front covers and a Mercer University Library plate on the front paste down. Occasional neat tape repairs to a few pages and to the May front cover. Occasional soil spots in the margins. However the interior is very clean and tight overall. The binding is solid and tight. A very good copy with stories and serial installments by prominent authors, most notably three P G Wodehouse Mr Mulliner stories, and a nice selection of Depression Era articles. A heavy, oversize book that will require additional postage. …
