A propos de cet article

Substantial and beautifully produced mid-century architectural drafting manual combining residential planning, rendering, structural systems, and technical construction practice. The cover photograph features the Elliott Erwitt residence designed by Roy Sigurd Johnson (from Record Houses of 1961), and the striking illustrated endpapers are a Hermann Bollmann pictorial city map - an iconic graphic touch of the era. The text moves from area planning and living-space design through drafting techniques, perspective rendering, and complete technical plans. Illustrated throughout with photographs, line drawings, floor plans, structural diagrams, and construction details, including slab and T-foundations, prestressed concrete principles, roof framing systems, and modernist residential examples. A superb reference capturing mid-century design pedagogy at its height. A particularly handsome copy. Binding tight and firm, appearing little used. No internal markings observed. Pages clean and bright throughout. No rips, tears, or stains found. Light, uniform age toning to page edges typical of 1965 stock. Paul I. Wallach collaborated in developing structured curricula that bridged artistic rendering and technical construction documentation. Together, their work helped define postwar architectural drafting pedagogy, reflecting both modernist design principles and the expanding technical sophistication of American residential construction.…
