Lavishly iIllustrated with photos -- many in beautiful full color. Featured are photos of, and the story of Clayton Valli -- the first deaf student to graduate from the University. Laid in is a printout from Wikipedia that details Valli's subsequent education and accomplishments as an influential author, Gallaudet University professor, prominent linguist and American Sign Language poet. Includes photos and rosters of the Freshman and Sophomore classes, Pi Beta Phi sorority, Sigma Alpha Esilon fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega, Delta Sigma Pi, White Pine Hall, Sigma Nu Little Sisters, Juniper Hall and Nye Hall students, Lincloln, and Manzanita Halls, various other fraternities and sororities. There are also photos and rosters of Ski, Swim, and Tennis team members. Also covered are events such as guest speakers: Bruce Jenner, 1976 Olympic Decathlon Gold Medalist, Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy, Ralph Nader and entertainers like mime Bernie Bang, etc. Has photos and articles on Blondie comic strip cartoonist John Kennedy (1911-1977) and the UNR Wolfpack football team. From the essay by Peggy Martin, THE SAD FATE OF MANZANITA'S SWANS: "I, too, was saddened when Siegfried and Odette, the pair of white swans, were found beheaded early Sunday, May 8th near the north shore of Manzanita Lake."
