Some mild external wear, glue beneath pastedowns shows a few brown streaks thereon, a few light pencil annotations in text, else a good copy. Includes full-page engravings of Thomas Jefferson, John Hancock, Benjamin Franklin and George Wythe. A curious edition with a somewhat misleading title, containing brief biographies of the Signers, along with select letters fully transcribed, and an alphabetical index [by Signer] of letters and dates. Note: There are no facsimiles of letters or of signatures. George Clifford Thomas, Sr. (1839-1909) was a Philadelphia banker and one-time partner in the investment firms Jay Cooke & Co., Drexel & Co.
