First impression of the true first edition. ***Please note that this is an ex-library copy which has been rebound in a clothbound library binding. However, the book is clean throughout, with just the usual stamps to the preliminary pages. ***Very good in brown cloth-covered boards, with gilt titles to the spine. This is a library rebind. Gilt still bright. Boards clean and unmarked. Head and tail of spine slightly creased. No bumps. Corners sharp. Internally clean, but with the following library marks: Label removed from front pastedown causing some surface loss to the paper, 'Withdrawn for Sal' ink stamp and remains of barcode to front free endpaper, short closed tear to top of half-title page, library number in ink to printer's copyright page.
