Between page 288 and 289, a publisher's notice is inserted, "The sequel to the "Battle Summer," to be entitled "Reign of Bourgeois," will be published early in the spring." This was actually never published. Donald Grant Mitchell (1822-1908) was an American essayist and novelist, whose most popular work was "Reveries of a Bachelor".
