A large heavy volume bound in a typical 19th C full embossed pigskin binding which is quite rubbed at the extremities as usual. The front hinge is cracked, but both covers are still fairly strong given the 11lb weight. The contents are very good with steel engravings and tissue guards. With 720 pages and at every other page about 300 portraits. The endpapers appear to be silk and all the page edges are gilt. Tom 4.
