BOMBS AT BIKINI OFFICIAL REPORT OPERATION CROSSROADS W.A. SHURCLIFF 1947 1ST. Another new listing meaning I have not offered this book for sale previously. I am pleased to be able to offer a very nice and reasonably well-preserved copy of a scarce document: Bombs at Bikini the Official Report of Operation Crossroads by W. A. Shurcliff. This report is about the work of Joint Task Force One, appointed by the Army & Navy, to test the effects of the detonation of atomic bombs-one in the air and another underwater. This medium-sized hard cover book (6 ¼ x 9 ¼ inches 212 pages) was published by Wm. H. Wise & Co. of New York dated 1947 and the First Edition with the same date on title and copyright pages. The book is bound in beige cloth boards with dark green titles on cover and spine. The book is well illustrated with 32 numbered plates and some additional diagrams. Condition: This book is in good condition. The hard covers are a bit dust-dulled and show some light smudges of darkening. There has been some bumping to the spine tips which have a bit of light fraying as a result. Inside the book is unmarked and the pages and plates are clean and bright throughout. Both hinges are intact, but the binding is cracked at the title page and the front cover feels a bit loose as a result. This book is not ex-library or a remainder. N° de réf. du vendeur 2526
