A propos de cet article

[1889] Hardcover. First Printing by a Commercial Publisher, Enlarged Edition (the first edition was self-published by the author and distributed to family and friends. This edition by the commercial publisher followed. Publisher's Binding, not leather bound in a later binding. Untrimmed edges (to give the book a quality look, popular during the period), 224 pages including Index, and Errata printed on last page. Condition of binding: Tears/chips/stains to the backstrip (spine), affecting the title of the book, and to the joints. Binding has wear (especially at extremities), soiling, liquid stains, chips at corners. Internally: Old bookplate of Geo. W. Wagenseller affixed to first pastedown endpaper. Text: Clear and very readable. Pages are amazedly in good condition for an 1889 book. Here is a historical and genealogical study of the Anglo Scottish Border region and the families who lived there. It has two major parts: 1. The Border or Riding Clans. This explores the turbulent region known as “the Borders,” where England and Scotland meet. History of the Clan Dickson. 2. The Dickson (Dixon) clan, including: Their origins and early lineage, notable family members, their role in Border history, a brief account of the author’s own family. A very collectible book. Note: We are a well-established, well-respected, ethical book dealer in business since 1991. We describe the condition of our books thoroughly and honestly, so you'll know exactly what you will receive when you order. We ship promptly.…

Description de la boutique

We are a well-established, well-respected book dealer who is professional, honest, and ethical in our business dealings. We tend to describe each book in a reserved, conservative manner, rather than oversell a book or sidestep the responsibility of addressing its flaws. Book club editions and library books along with books without dustjackets (if they came with dustjackets) are pointed out in our descriptions. We describe our books in detail, pointing out the precise condition of each book based on our opinion. It's your assurance that the book we describe is as close as possible to the book you will receive. In business since 1991, we typically have the highest ratings on major web sites. It will be a pleasure to serve you. R. Siedlecki R. Siedlecki Vintage Books…
