This book is in VG- condition and is a stated first edition with "K-W" (Harper's code, meaning October, 1922) beneath the edition statement. The book is square, very clean, free of corner bumps and edge dings; head and heel of the spine are lightly bumped without fabric damage. The top and bottom 1/2" of both boards have slight discoloration (see photo). Except for the end pages, which have brown freckles or age spots (see photo), the interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains and page damage. Paper is lightly toned and just a bit stiff but with no hint of brittleness; hinges are strong and undamaged. The G- jacket has extensive damage--a chip that removes about 30% of the rear panel, small chips at the head and heel of the spine and at the top front corner; remarkably, though, the front panel is still reasonably intact and quite colorful (see photo).
