Attractive green cloth covered boards with bright red and gilt titling within a gilt bordered oval. A touch of bumping on head and foot of spine, otherwise fine. Decorative green and white dj with some sunning visible on the white parts of the spine and upper cover. A few closed tears around the head and foot of the spine and corners. Otherwise very good. Acquired from Maud Lloyd, an admired leading dancer with Ballet Rambert in the 1930s. Later she wrote, with her husband, Nigel Gosling, influential dance books and reviews under the pseudonym, 'Alexander Bland'. When Rudolph Nureyev defected in 1961, they became his surrogate parents.
