A propos de cet article

A splendid copy in gleaming finely woven black cloth stamped brightly in gold on the spine. Very clean and crisp throughout; virtually unread. A near-fine copy of the Book of the Month Club edition with the blind stamped "pencil point impression" at the bottom right-hand corner of the rear panel. A few other minor condition issues include: a faint staple residue at the center of the rear endpaper and paste-down. In the original, complete Book-of-the Month Club dust jacket with the iconic Lotte Jacobi photo of J.D. Salinger on the rear panel. Very clean and crisp with touches of wear at the corners and tiny chips at the top of the spine ends. small chip at the bottom of the spine. A striking jacket. Laid in is a fine, crisp 4-page pamphlet, "The Catcher in the Rye" a Report by Clifton Fadiman. Also laid in is the original invoice printed in red and black for the Book Club "Midsummer Selection- The Catcher in the Rye" including mailing expense from the Book-of-the-Month Club, inc. at 345 Hudson St., New York 14, N.Y. with the customer's name, address, and account number, and the total price of $3.29. This dates the book as one of the earliest copies of the BCE, a first edition thus. Scarce in this condition and with the original printed invoice. The Catcher in the Rye is a 1951 novel by J. D.
