[4], 32, 1f blank, with half title, engr. portrait frontispiece. 8vo in fours. A fine clean crisp copy, frontispiece v. sl. shaved. Full polished calf by Rivière, gilt fillet borders, gilt panelled spine, red gilt morocco labels. a.e.g. ESTC T030433, first edition. The work was written in support of Queen Anne's final ministry, and criticises numerous passages in 'The Englishman'. A satire on Richard Steele, purporting to be by 'Toby', i.e. Edward King, nephew of Abel Roper, whose portrait was used as a frontispiece in order to reinforce this deceit.
