A propos de cet article

Description :

A smart first UK edition of this brightly illustrated retelling of a European fable for children. First UK edition. Illustrated with twenty-four colour plates. Collated complete. A European fable, being a variation of the fable the Little Red Hen, which has been further adapted for modern readers. The story follows the relationship between the inhabitants of the two houses on top of two hills. One house is well kept where the cock, mouse and red hen live. The other house is ramshackle where the bad fox and little foxes live. Written by Felicite Lefevre, an American author. Illustrated by Anthony Frederick Sarg, a German American puppeteer and illustrator. In the original pictorial cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine with small splits to the cloth at the head and tail resulting in minor loss. The odd small mark to the rear board. Front hinge just starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with minor age toning to the endpapers. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. Very Good. N° de réf. du vendeur 932T79
