Collated, complete.An ode to the work of the three great Cruikshanks, the father Isaac, and his two sons, Robert and George. The trio were leading figures in the art world of Georgian and Victorian England, known for their caricatures and satires. Together, they were early pioneers in the history of comics, using narratives and speech balloons.Including their illustrations for 'Bachelors' Hall', 'The Greenwich Pensioner', 'Pastimes of Primrose Hill', 'The Lads of the Ocean', 'Sound Philosophy', 'Paddy M'Shane's Seven Ages', 'John Grouse and Mother Goose', 'An Election Ball', and more. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Loss to the head and tail of the spine. Bumping to the extremities. Spine is a little faded. A few light marks to the cloth, and a small amount of rubbing to the joints and extremities. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a few scattered spots. Frontispiece is working loose to the tail. Good.
