CONDITION: Ex-library copy with 'Hudson Library - Highlands, N.C.' written in ink on the second front free endpaper' and an old style checkout pocket affixed to the back pastedown (no other library indications). The outside is in good condition; there is heavy sunning to the spine and the top edge of the back board (see photo); the front board has a really small size nick to the cloth at the upper area. There is some age foxing present on a few pages. There is a pencil inscription from 1897 on the first front free endpaper. Book is without other marks or writings, pages are clean and book is tight and sturdy. All the pages are present in book. Good/None dust jacket condition. BACKGROUND/DESCRIPTION: There are only ONLY 6 Trubner 1921 copies found for sale on the internet at the time of this research, and this is the only 1888 Trubner copy found!!!! Hardcover. Etat : Good to Very Good. 1st Edition. With the signature of S.A. MacDonald inside the front cover, being Sidney A. MacDonald of 27a Addison Gardens, London. His obituary in Psychic News, published on the 11th of August, 1962 mentions that he was responsible for hundreds of psychic drawings, mostly of spirit guides. Despite an injured hand from the Blitz he was able to draw and paint. [2], viii, [2], 230pp, [2], bound in textured brown cloth, binding tight, hinges starting to crack. Covers in Good Condition, with light paint spatters on the front cover, edge wear, and bumped corners. Interior is in Very Good Condition, with a "Triad Bookstore" label inside the front cover. Daniel Dunglas Home (1833-1886) was a Scottish psychic medium with the ability to levitate objects, including himself, speak with the dead, his seances included auditory phenomena, materializations, changing the weight of objects, as well as earthquake effects, during which the entire room and contents would shake and tremble.
