Very Good hardback copy except for the loss of the top 1/8 inch of the spine cloth and some wear to the bottom of the spine. First published by Harper in 1839. OCLC lists the author as James Rennie or Charles Knight. The introduction notes that this volume is revised and abridged from material published by the British Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge. I could not identify such a book so it may have appeared in magazines such as Knight's Library of Entertaining Knowledge. Original cloth, Family Library Series No. 164. 4x6 inches. #.
