With 4pp. Subscribers List. Ink presentation inscription, dated 1896, to blank facing title page, partially erased in signature to top of front pastedown, and previous bookseller's pencil notes to ffep. 2cm. strip removed from top of title page. Small closed triangular tear to p.191. Occasional light foxing, heavier to prelims and untrimmed foredge. Slight mottling to rebacked spine and some rubbing and slight loss to title label edges. Canterbury is close to London (about 1 1/2 hours by train) and only 30 minutes drive from the Channel Tunnel. The Chaucer Bookshop is situated in a beautiful 18th Century building inside Canterbury's city walls. The building was originally one house but was established as a bookshop in 1956. The adjoining property was also later acquired and the bookshop greatly extended. Amongst the wide range of books (on 2 floors) you will find art, architecture, history, English literature, topography, travel, food and wine, railways and many more. We have a variety of original prints and maps for sale and a selection of modern First Editions and fine bindings. We also stock a comprehensive range of Fine Art greetings cards and wrapping paper.
