The book is divided into two parts: Ten Lectures (250 pp.), and "Unto This Last:" Four Essays on the First Principles of Political Economy (138 pp.). Brown cloth covered hardcovers with gold spine lettering. The corners are worn to the boards. Splitting at top 1.3" of front gutter. Portion of the tail of the spine has chipped off. Light undulations to the text block as viewed from the top and front edges. The binding is tight, though slightly rolled forward. The title page displays the former owner's stamp - "T.B. Brooks Iron Expert Marquette, L.S. Mich. Dec 16 1872". Interior pages are unmarked, but tanned as expected for a sesquicentenary work. No dust jacket.
