The first edition of the second volume of William Hone's charmingly illustrated work of popular amusement, handsomely bound in quarter calf. Volume II only of the first edition of this work. At the time of the publication of this volume, only two volumes were intended to be published. However four volumes were ultimately produced.The first edition of Hone's guide to the events and history of everyday of the year, including discussions of the seasons of the year, sports, pastimes, manners, customs, and important events.Illustrated with a frontispiece, and with vignette illustrations throughout.The work of English writer, satirist and bookseller, William Hone.Rebound, with endpapers renewed. Rebound in calf backed, marbled paper covered boards, with endpapers renewed. Externally, fine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages lightly age toned, with spotting and handling marks throughout.
