First edition, first printing. Trade issue. Publisher's original green cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in the Hubert Rogers illustrated dustwrapper. Illustrated endpapers. A very near fine copy, the binding square and firm with very slight bumping at the corners. The contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the original dustwrapper which is lightly creaded at the spine tips and is free from fading, loss or tears. Not price-clipped ($40.00 to the front flap). Issued in a limited edition of 500 copies. A collection of 15 short stories which were originally published in pulp form between August 1941 and November 1958.
