David Long is the author also of The Daughters of Simon Lamoreaux, Blue Spruce, The Inhabited World, and Home Fires. He was born in Boston, 1948, an only child. He was raised in rural Massachusetts. He attended college in Albion, Michigan, married Susy Schweinsberg, and managed to stay out of the war. Attended graduate school at the University of Montana in Missoula, became a student of Richard Hugo, William Kittredge, and Madeline Defrees. Long's prose style has been compared to John Updike's and that's apt. Long's vocabulary is more restrained, but he is just as poetic. There's an effortless feel to Long's prose, though much care has clearly gone into the work. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 254 pages.…
