A near fine copy, in a very good plus unclipped dust jacket, of the stated first US printing. The binding of black cloth spine over red speckled paper boards is clean and unworn, with strong red lettering to the spine. Everything is sound and tight, with square unbumped edges. The contents are clean and bright with no ownership inscriptions or other markings of any kind. The dust jacket is unclipped ($4.95), and is otherwise fully complete, showing only very minor edgewear, and a little rubbing and fading to the spine. It is now protected in a removable mylar cover. From the blurb: "This novel tells the story of the great Boer trek of the 1830's in which ten thousand Boers, men, women, and children - left the security of the Cape Colony and drove themselves like a spear into the emptiness of Africa, living in their tented wagons, eating the game they shot, marking with the graves of their dead the outspans where they rested, the road with the bleached bones of their livestock. They made history". N° de réf. du vendeur NT000581
