8vo. Pp. xx; Index. Frontispiece (color miniature of Napoleon). B&W photos throughout depict Napoleona -- letters, his handkerchief, artifacts. Includes a genealogical table. Appendix reprints some documents in French. Bound in full blue cloth with Napoleon's monographic N with crown stamped on front cover; gilt lettering stamped on spine. TEG. Foreedge and bottom edge untrimmed. Light surface wear to cover. Binding starting between frontis. and title page. Bookseller's discreet stamp on front free endpaper ("Wm. Tyrrell Co./Toronto"). A rich trove of material, much of it first published here. Of particular note are the journal and letters of Admiral Viscount Keith, of the Bellerophon, the vessel that took Napoleon and his large retinue in captivity as British authorities ascertained the Corsican Ogre's fate; and the letters of Lady Malcolm during Napoleon's St. Helena captivity.
