B&W Photographs; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 787 pages; Complete two volume set in original ornate decorative binding of dark green cloth with gilt stamped and debossed crests, fluer and rulied designs. This set retains the original dark green cloth covered dust jackets, much plainer in design with simple but elegant titling in gilt to spines. Trace rub to the cloth dust jackets at edges and surfaces. The jackets have done a splendid job of preserving the decorative cloth bindings in a very handsome condition. Books soundlbound with just mild shelf rub to spine ends and corners. A closed tear about 2/3 the width of page 43 in volume 1 has been archivally mended with japanese tissue tape. Illustrated with b&w historical photographs of French landmarks and scenery. Solid unmarked set uncommon in dust jacket and contition. NF/VG+ .
