A very clean copy in a very good dust jacket. Tim Flannery, a scientist and historian, teamed up with wildlife artist Peter Schouten to create a kind of memorial for these lost creatures. Each animal is presented with a full-color illustration and a short, engaging description that explains what the animal was like, where it lived, and how it disappeared. The book covers animals from all over the world, including well-known ones like the dodo and the passenger pigeon, as well as lesser-known species like the Steller?s sea cow and the bluebuck.
