Previous owner's inscription in ink to first pastedown who notes the re-binding date of 1958, and on the first free endpaper, verso, she notes some pencilled comment about the author's translations. A very good full calf hardback with rebacked original boards and new corners added. Spine with raised bands and hand lettered morocco title label. With incised tooled decoration to the spine. Although the spine leather is a replacement, it has been made in sympathetic 18th Century style.

The text pages are bright and clean throughout and the text block is sound. Occasional minor imperfection, but a very usable and attractive copy.

Text mainly in English with Greek references.
