Navy blue cloth covered boards with gilt titles to the spine, light blue end-papers, with the dust jacket. Book condition very good plus, corners and spine ends a little rubbed and bumped, very tiny area of fading at the head of the spine where the dust jacket is slightly chipped in the same place, previous owner's blind stamp to the title page, the pale blue end-papers are starting to tone around the edges other than this the contents are very clean throughout. Slight edge wear to jacket otherwise fine, not price clipped. A fascinating read, with numerous black and white and colour photographs of the voyage. Size quarto, 9.75" tall. 644, 592, 569 and 537 pages. Paper covered boards, the paper is red with a heavy gold repeat pattern to it, ivory marbled paper spine sections with gilt titles on the spines, Top page edges dyed red. Housed within plain ivory coloured card slipcase. The slipcase is worn, rubbed at the edges and dust darkened and one of the edges has split. Book conditions very good plus to near fine, spines slightly dust marked, there are darkened patches on the covers of the first two volumes, from handling it appears, other than this the condition is fine, the contents are exceptionally clean in all the four volumes.
