Small 4to. Full calf, disbound. Engraved licence leaf of Will. Morrice, engraved Royal Society arms on verso. Two folding plates present. Upper cover detached, the book broken into two parts at page 233. Piece cut from upper title. Spine chipped and edges worn, in need of a binder's attention. An ALS of 1908 tipped to the first leaf indicates that the book was owned by a descendant of the author: Charles Spratt. The first edition was published in 1667; a Third Edition appeared in 1722. A contentious work, the first edition had a complex publishing history. This is the revised Second Edition of 1702. N° de réf. du vendeur 57015
