Cond : Boards are reddy-brown with gilt lettering - spine only. End-papers are the colour of ripe grain. D.J. is reddy-brown with yellow and white lettering. Cameo photo on cover features two mounted riders - and what seems to be a dog being held by one of the riders. (No attribution.) D.J. bright and clean with a few v. minor tears. Volume is square and bright. No names nor marks. Spine fine, binding tight. Excellent reading copy. Quote (p. 145) : " Walking about Vanguard was no hardship provided one stayed on the wooden sidewalks, but crossing the street was a major hazard after a rain. The streets were wide and unpaved.
