Rare original 1847 copy of "The Illuminated Book of Needlework: Comprising Knitting, Netting, Crochet and Embroidery Proceeded by a History of Needlework Including an Account of Ancient Historical Tapestries." The book is overall in Fair condition with signs of wear and age. It has been rebacked and retains a good portion of the original cloth backstrip which is adhered over the new cloth spine. The covers have some moderate soiling and wear. There is a slight slant to the spine. A few of the pages have some marginal chips which does not affect the text. One of the plate leaves appears to have been reaffixed to the binding and is worn around the edges with some crease lines. A page gathering or two is slightly pulled. Along with that there may be the occasional page with a light bit of foxing, grubbiness, or some kind of other minor imperfection such as a creased corner, small chip or tear, minor stain or marking, etc. The book measures approximately 8 1/8 inches by 5 1/8 inches and is 465+114 pages long.
