Synopsis
This book contains a selection of revised papers presented at the Third Eurographics Workshop on Intelligent CAD Systems, held in the Netherlands in April 1989. The workshop theme was "Practical Experience and Evaluation" and its aim was to share the experience the participants had gained by developing intelligent CAD systems, and to evaluate developed systems to determine which features were still lacking. Topics such as design process models, system architecture, languages for intelligent CAD, geometric reasoning and user interfaces are highlighted. This book of proceedings on computer science, computer aided design, artificial intelligence, mechanical, electrical and civil engineering and architecture is intended for researchers, graduate students and developers.

This book contains a selection of revised papers presented at the Third Eurographics Workshop on Intelligent CAD Systems, held in the Netherlands in April 1989. The workshop theme was "Practical Experience and Evaluation" and its aim was to share the experience the participants gained by developing intelligent CAD systems, and to evaluate the developed systems to determine which features were still lacking. Topics such as design process models, system architecture, languages for intelligent CAD, geometric reason- ing, and user interfaces are highlighted. The papers are by authors from computer science, mathematics, architecture, mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, and civil engineering. This wide variety of backgrounds ensures a variety of approaches, to give the reader an up-to-date overview of a field which is developing day by day.
