The exterior shows edge wear, scuffs and scratches on the front cover, spine and back cover. The bottom of the front cover is slightly wrinkled most likely due to humidity. The right edge bottom of the front cover has a minor bump which also affected slightly the first page right edge. Remaining interior with minor signs of wear. Good condition overall.; Catalogue from the exhibition 'Kuniyoshi: From the Arthur R.Miller Collection' held at Royal Academy of Arts, London 21 March-7 June 2009 and Japan Society, New York 12 March-13 June 2010.; Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797-1861) is considered one of the greatest Japanese print artists. Along with such illustrious figures as Hokusai and Hiroshige, he dominated nineteenth-century essays in the popular genre of woodblock prints known as ukiyo-e ('pictures of the floating world'). This book presents a selection of Kuniyoshi's finest prints in high-quality reproductions. A leading authority on Japanese art, Timothy Clark, explores Kuniyoshi's wide-ranging subject-matter, from portraits of Japanese warrior heroes and fashionable beauties to satirical themes and landscapes.
