(There was a later 14th volume addended in 1807, 14 years later). This set is complete in 13 volumes. Bound in leather bindings. These are the original leather bindings from 1795! Complete 13 volume set. FIRST EDITION. Printed for John and Arthur Arch, et. al., London & Edinburgh. 1793-1795. These are large, thick, and heavy books at 9 3/8 inches tall. Good condition overall which is VERY GOOD condition for a set of books from the 1700's still bound in the original bindings. Most hinges starting as is expected but strongly attached, held strongly by the underlying binding cords. The text blocks are all tightly bound. External wear, wear to spines, as shown. These still retain the 18th century bindings and the original spine labels are generally intact but with wear as shown in the picture. Interior is well preserved. Printed on quality rag paper that will last for many more centuries. Some minor foxing. No writing or signs of previous ownership. An early, complete collection of the classic British Poets.
